Sciatica is irritation/compression of the nerve. Common symptoms include:

  • Lower and buttock pain
  • Numbness in some parts of leg or foot

Sciatica is usually diagnosed by physical examination and history of symptoms. Spinal disc herniation, spinal stenosis, Piriformis syndrome and pregnancy can be different causes of sciatica.

It is common that medication won’t help in most cases; especially NSAIDS do not appear to help acute Sciatica. Research has shown that spinal manipulation is an effective treatment for acute sciatica and is totally safe for the treatment of sciatica related pain.
